Special Primary Congressional District 1 Election
NOTICE OF MAIL BALLOT PROCEDURES: The Canton City Council has elected to vote by mail ballot procedure in statewide elections for calendar year 2022. Here’s what you need to know about the May 24 Special Primary Congressional District 1 Election.
- If you are a registered City of Canton voter, as of May 3, 2022, you will be automatically mailed a ballot for this special election. You can either return your completed ballot by mail or in-person to the Fillmore County Auditor/Treasurer’s Office in Preston. Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on May 24 to be counted.
- If you are not a registered City of Canton voter, as of May 3, 2022, you have two options:
- Eligible voters can contact the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office by phone, mail, or in-person for an absentee ballot application.
- Eligible City of Canton voters can register and vote in-person on May 24 at the Auditor/Treasurer’s Office from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (There will be no in-person voting in the City of Canton on May 24.)
